Pop-up Farmer's Market - Fabbioli.gif

The New Ag School, Legacy Farms, and Shanholtz Landscaping & Gardens announce our first-ever, pop-up farmer's market THIS SATURDAY, 6/27 from 11-2 at Fabbioli Cellars!

Join us for fresh-picked vegetables from our new gardens, along with flowers, table-top culinary herb gardens, salad greens, small-batch canned goods, cupcakes, fresh-pressed juices from Roots to Rise, and of course Fabbioli wines!

You'll be supporting our non-profit endeavors while enjoying a lovely day at the vineyard!

Non-profits include: New Ag School's mentor/apprentice trade education, Legacy Farms' garden program and jobs for neurodiverse individuals, and Shanholtz' support as mentor and partner to both programs!

Come early for a "Saturday on the Farm" class and garden tour from 9-11, then enjoy our mini farmer's market from 11-2, and an afternoon of wine and gourmet food pairings from the cellars.

Due to Covid restrictions, wine-tastings and seatings require advance scheduling. Call 703-771-1197 for wine reservations.

No reservations needed for class, pop-up farmer's market, or tasting room purchases! Just show up for the morning class and 11-2 pop-up farmer's market!

lightfoot.jpg

We tend our garden in an environmentally friendly way, with the goal of beautifying our community and building partnerships with local businesses.

In fact, our program relies heavily on custom-designed relationships that allow us to deliver a product that is just right for your business and features what we grow! What are some options?

Partnership opportunities include:

- Weekly delivery arrangements (wholesale)

- Donation-based delivery arrangements

- Joint partnership fundraisers

- Custom-designed programs and products from our farm to your business.

Access a more detailed information sheet here.

Growing Together

Your Support is Essential

We’ve hired our first group of apprentices! We are hard at work harvesting and delivering zinnias, sunflowers, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, chard, and more! We offer targeted mini-apprenticeships on a contract basis to perform essential organizational tasks in our garden, in the community, and for organizational management.

Fund an Apprentice

Your donation to Legacy Farms supports short-term, contract-based jobs for a mentor and/or an apprentice (ages 16 and up), learning real-world skills in gardening, media design, sales management or non-profit organizational development. The program is well underway, and we hired our first group of paid apprentices this summer!

Mentor or Hire a Legacy Farmer

Legacy Farms is always looking for local mentors and employers with whom to partner. If you wish to learn more about the benefits to your organization and how to support this effort, please contact us.

And, coming soon…
a new video describing recent development of our Growing Together model, offering paid apprenticeships in a neurodiverse community.

The interviews, photography, and narration in this video were created for Legacy Farms by one of our participant apprentices! See more of her work at ARTWORKS.
